We will add new documents and links (below) as we find
them. Note that you can find many of the documents by going to the
ca.gov website and typing in "Sacramento Delta"
and "water" in
the search box.
Because so many more documents were introduced online the later part of
2009, please also go to 2009 More Documents. The most important of the
document links are to the right, under the map, in the yellow box. The
map itself was compiled using the information from the different eir/eis
processes found online and covers only the south half of the Delta.
According to some "Delta Voices" the East Side canal is already partly built
and the central one must be in detail bidding phase, because plans for the
the central conveyance or "Eco-crescent/Middle River" concept seems to have
momentum. The "Two Gates" project under the Eco-crescent/Middle River
plan would actually be 5 permanent gates to channel the fresh water of the
Sacramento River south through the central Delta area into the storage and
aqueduct for transport to out-of-Delta areas.

Bottom line: the Delta
has fresh water and land owners outside of the Delta want the right to take
that water all the time, even if it destroys the use of Delta farm lands,
and even if it eliminates several species of fish and eventually eliminates
the salmon fishing industry for California, Oregon and Washington.
