California Delta plans from 1850's through the 1980's
On this page you will find links to pdfs or maps produced by the agencies as noted . These are the ones we found easily online. There are many other studies, as indicated by the table references and bibliographies of the reports. From the reports it seems the state and Federal agencies only got involved with protecting Delta levees starting in the 1930's, for the purpose of directing fresh water to canals to send to Southern California.
